j2 communications, founded in 2003, offers a diverse range of integrated marketing expertise including public relations, social media, and events consulting. We have worked with a broad range of clients building brands in industries which include technology and consumer electronics, fashion, automotive, hospitality, entertainment and non-profit.

We  provide clients, both retainer and project-based, with customized service, original and innovative ideas and one-on-one attention.With a focus on strength, sensibility, and dedication to detail,  j2’s ultimate goal is to exceed our clients’ expectations.

Jamie Joffe, “Chief Trouble Maker”
Founder/President

Jamie_Joffe_RoundedJamie has established a broad network of media contacts across the country and in the international marketplace and has placed clients in various media channels. Her hands-on experience in every facet of public relations and special events gives her a unique perspective that serves her varied clientele well.

Jamie was born in Philadelphia, and currently resides in Lafayette Hill. She attended the prestigious S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and earned her MA in Marketing & Communications at Temple University. She began her career with Ogilvy and Mather and has worked with prestigious companies that include: VH1, Paul Mitchell, Hugo Boss, Michael Kors, Jonathan Adler, Gibson Guitar, Velodyne, Monster Cable, United Health Services, International Council of Shopping Centers and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts.

Jamie is a wife, mom and taxi driver to two boys, two dogs and a turtle (and any other strays that may show up).

Raised by a disco queen, she attended her first concert at age 7 (Diana Ross) and learned how to dance the hustle in her living room with the legendary Teddy Pendergrass.

In her downtime she watches reruns of the Real Housewives on Bravo, works on her backgammon strategy and pretends she can play the guitar like Eric Clapton and the drums like Buddy Rich.   She sits on the Board of the Marian Anderson Foundation, Mission Kids, and The Do-Gooders.

Christy Brechner
Managing Director
Christy_BW_RoundedA graduate of the University of Michigan, Christy spent many years in New York buying and merchandising for some of the most elite fashion retailers including Barneys New York and Bergdorf Goodman. Her reputation for excellence lead her to be recruited by celebrated CFDA designer Michael Kors to serve as VP/Director of Sales and Merchandising. Christy was then tapped by Condé Nast to lead efforts as the Director of eCommerce for the launch of Style.com, the online home of Vogue and W magazines.

Christy’s unique experiences in all channels of the fashion industry give her invaluable perspective into luxury branding, business development for start-ups and established entities, trend analysis, and driving online business through the creation of engaging content.

Relocating to Philadelphia (her hometown) Christy joined j2 Communications in 2014 as Managing Director. In this role, Christy is responsible for business development as well as the effective implementation of campaign strategy. Christy provides input and direction to ensure the successful execution of client programs, and works closely with creative services to deliver effective and exciting brand creative. Her extensive management experience overseeing operations, staffing and team building, combined with the creative insight she received curating collections and producing original editorial makes Christy the ideal individual to manage an agency situated in an industry like Public Relations. She resides in Bryn Mawr, PA, “managing” her entrepreneurial husband and her two fashionable pre teen daughters.

Alisha Nevā
Digital Marketing Consultant

Alisha_Neva_RoundedAlisha majored in Creative Writing at Franklin & Marshall College (F&M) and continues to explore English Literature and Psychology at Community College of Philadelphia positioning her perfectly for strategic content marketing and public relations.

In 2011 Alisha moved to Philadelphia for a job as a Web Analyst at Elsevier. During her 4 years at Elsevier she explored several positions in the Digital Marketing team and found her love for start-ups and transformational events. In May 2015 her creative side led her to j2 where her skills and passions in writing, marketing, and all things digital combine to make her an excellent fit for the team.

She is excited to bring her digital marketing background to j2 as well as her experience in print communications and event coordination in various industries. She currently resides in Philadelphia, PA in the neighborhood of Fishtown with a cat, a dog, and 2 fabulous roommates and enjoys dancing, singing, and outdoor adventures.
